| Classrooms |
Montessori
Children's Center has two classrooms. Classrooms contain children
of mixed ages, from 2 to 6. Children are accepted into the program
between ages 2 and 3 1/2.

| Requirements |
All children
3 or older must be toilet-trained. Childrens are required to
be in attendance from 8:30 a.m.3 p.m. (full-day program)
or 8:30 a.m.12:30 p.m. (half-day program).

Schedule |
Open all
year. Montessori Program is September through June and Summer
School is July through August.

| Holidays |
The Montessori
Program will not continue during vacations and holidays. The
center strives to coordinate its schedule with the San Francisco
School District as closely as possible.

| Holiday
Childcare |
Will be
offered at the Center on non-federal holidays at an additional
fee.
|

| Snacks |
Snacks
are available to children 4 times daily early and mid-morning
and mid- and late afternoon. Parents will be asked to provide
snacks for their child's class for one or more weeks during the
school year.

| Open
House |
Will be
scheduled throughout the year. Enjoyable social occasion, shared
by children, parents and staff.

| Parent
Meetings |
Evening
meetings are held at the Center on a regular basis. Presentations
are given on many child-related topics by staff and guests.

Conferences |
Regularly
scheduled for each child., twice yearly.

| Consultation |
By appointment
at the request of parents or Directress.
|

| Observations
for Enrollment |
Observations
(see also Visitation) scheduled
by appointment, dependent upon classroom situation. We ask that
parents come for observation without their children. See also
our guidelines for observing a
Montessori classroom.

| Library |
Parents
may borrow from a selection of literature on Montessori and subjects
relating to children and their development.

| Activities |
We provide
a full range of appropriate Montessori materials and activities
in both classrooms:

Field
trips are imited to walking trips only, around the school neighborhood.

| Commitment |
Please
note: Parents
are advised, when considering Montessori for their child, to
understand it is a 3-year commitment, September through June,
and to plan on continuing through the kindergarten year.
