Admissions: Welcome Prospective Parents

Welcome to Prospective Parents

Dear Prospective Parents:

Thank you for considering enrolling your child in Montessori Children's Center. Our goal is to provide a quality learning environment based on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, for children 2-1/2 to 6 years. We also accept a limited number of 2-year-olds.

Enrollment is open to all children irrespective of race, color, religion, or national origin. We celebrate diversity and an international view of the world.

It is truly our goal to help each child become his or her own person. We are committed to helping children develop their total personalities and independence, enhancing their natural desire to learn, and developing their sense of community.

The Montessori Program is in session September through June, with a summer program in July and August. It is designed as a 3-year program, with all the preparatory activities of the first two years culminating in a successful kindergarten year. We accept children into the program between the ages of 2 and 3-1/2 years, and strongly recommend they remain for a full 3-year period, including kindergarten. The full 3-year cycle offers the children the opportunity for maximum growth, creatively, intellectually, and socially, by allowing them to explore and work at their own pace without fear of failure.

Children age 4 and over will be admitted if space becomes available. They will be expected to commit to 2 years in the program.

The Center has been accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale. The staff includes experienced Montessori teachers with extensive educational backgrounds and a qualified complementary staff.

Please see "Our Approach at Montessori Children's Center" (to be posted soon) to learn more about our philosophy and methods. You'll also find additional information you need in the Center Profile, Fee Schedule, and Terms of Admission.

We hope you'll schedule a visit to look at one of our classrooms (see Visitation). Please review our guidelines for parents, "What to Look for in a Montessori Classroom," before you come.

Please contact us with any questions or to schedule an observation. Thank you for your interest in Montessori Children's Center.
